The Manual and the Machine

 The Manual and The Machine used to be able to practice during the day. Lately it's had to be at night. We always talk about going back and overdubbing to really thicken the sound, but instead we've just found ways for the two of us to make more noise live.

Paul pulled a double shift and made some sense out of our blues freakout. Over the course of four tracks, we discovered that the Manual and the Machine Just Don't Get the Blues. The kazoo was cheap, but its sound is large.

Hammered out this Industrial Noise Jazz ep to celebrate the successful docking of another looping pedal. Saw a lot of folks sleeping in their cars the other night.

Soldered and taped together a wearable microphone. Happy birthday Uncle Sam, I hope I don't suffocate! See shows until cash runs out, practice like hell until next paycheck.

Seeing a lot of great shows. Quality inverse to door price. Rafter, Sandwitches, Sad Horse, Maus Haus, Emily Wells. I was late because the bus I was on took the door off a car just after it turned off Van Ness.

We got all misty-eyed and recorded a couple Christmas thrash classics. Songs by dead guys and Big Black, and an instrumental number. The figs on the abandoned lot went from thick-skinned green knots, to withered brown husks without ever ripening. Some things never have a right moment.
